Pair of Victorian Horn-handled Knives Spreaders in Original Satin-lined Case

Someone gave me these as a gift 5 years ago. I do not collect Victorian items, but I thought I might use them as cheese knives or spreaders, but the occasion never came up.
They are in their original purple satin lined case (photos make it look like fuchsia, but more magenta/purple). The lining is in good condition, though it is a little worn in a couple of places and there is some discoloration where the ferrule meets the satin.
The case itself closes and snaps shut nicely, but as you can see is worn on the outside. It has a label on the back side, the number "7" and a slash under it. Please note when the case is open, you can see a nick on the edge of the inside of the lid.
The blades have a delicate floral design etched on one side.
The knives are a little under 8" in length. The case measures 9" x 3" x 1".
Not sure what metal the blades are made of, not even sure if they are silver plated. I have never had to polish them, and they could very well be later stainless replacements (?), though usually they say "stainless". The horn handles are split on side. See the second photo.
There has to be a second life for these lovely knives/spreaders.
