    Description

2004-7 July New Views of Our SUN & SPACE WEATHER National Geographic Map
The 'fire in the sky' was one of the first things humans tried to fathom about the natural world. This is an important 2 part study of our sun and space weather. One side titled “New Views of our Sun, Cool to Hot” contains five images of the sun taken by telescope and satellite, plus an explanation of the differing temperatures in various areas of the sun, and the future of the sun. The reverse-side is titled “Exploring Space Weather” and discusses the solar winds of charged particles, and the more-violent solar flares and coronal mass ejections (CME) that bombard earth disrupting some of our technology. An exciting study!
    Map is approximately 31" x 20".
